LAGOS.....NIGERIA.....REFLECTIONS.

It is day 4 now and death toll at the collapsed building in Ikoyi is now 36.

Some bodies will never be found under that rubble.

Some may be decomposing before the rescue team gets to them,

Some may not have died immediately, but the strain and heat from being under that place for days is enough to kill.

Oh, what a terrible way to go.

Day by day, we feel the wrath of what cutting corners, incompetence and corruption can cost a country.

Sad that some people have to pay the price of someone else's greed, mistake or nonchalant attitude.

For every time you look away in the face of evil....

For every time you know what is right but you do what is wrong....

For every time you take bribe to allow an illegal structure stand.....

For every time you take money to allow a quack hospital continue to operate.....

For every time you import fake drugs into the country.....

For every time you manufacture/ produce drugs that are not up to required health standard..

For every time you encourage an abuser....

For every time you cover up for a pedophile.....

For every time you cover up for a rapist.....

For every time you tamper with justice.....

For the ones taking out manhole covers from the streets....

For the ones replacing medications in the hospitals with fakes and selling off originals...

For the ones who steal the train rail tracks....

For the ones who cart away the PHCN cables and vandalize the transformers.

For the auto - mechanic that deploys the usage of fake parts....

For the furniture maker that will use substandard materials....

For the IG vendors that will advertise A and provide B....

ALL of us are culpable. All are part of the problem.

May the dead find peace and their family succor. Life is frail.

 Vanity upon vanity.
