2020: The One We Did Not See Coming.

Hey lovelies,

Long time no post! I have not forgotten about this blog but LIFE keeps happening!!

I know it is just 24th of November and the year is not near ending but then 2020 can be described as the year that decided to turn on it's own.

2020, the year people with discerning spirit learnt a thing or two. I just want to share with you a few lessons I learnt along the way:

1. Everything in life happens for a reason. Life is a lesson , we learn everyday and we keep learning. Amazing how when some things falls into place in our lives and then we think back at when the process started. The time you met someone who randomly mentioned your name in a room full of opportunities, many years later. That meeting was not a chance meeting...it was the beginning of a process.

2. Know your place in people's lives and act accordingly. Humans beings are very complex.  I am up for loving people deeply and all of that but don't get so sucked in that you are unable to read in between the very faint lines.

3. Life is a process, and the journey is different for everyone. Have you ever wondered why Mr A and Mr B chase the same thing...with same qualifications and credentials...but things work out for Mr A in 2 months while Mr B may have to wait years or the thing never even clicks. Everybody's race is very different, we need patience to understand and walk our path. Do not be afraid to live as you deserved, enjoy life and appreciate what you have.

4. One day, your loved ones will go away. Sometimes, unannounced and we unprepared. It is part of the journey of life. Here today and gone tomorrow. Love your tribe, show deep love as often as you can. Tell people what they mean to you because tomorrow is just not guaranteed. So many deaths this year that shook me to my core, unexpected and unannounced. May perpetual light continue to shine on the departed.

5. 2020 taught me that we are all equal. Money and status or perceived fame have no bearing on what happens to you. At the end of the day, we are all susceptible to the same vices. This has helped me to re priotize my time and life's purpose. All those things that seemed so essential don't really matter after all. Who would have thought a lot of religious people could stay away from their places of worship without feeling guilt?

6. Mental health is key. There are days , I just burst out crying for no apparent reason. I just feel so overwhelmed with news, happenings and situations n the world and around me. I had to learn how to deal with boredom, fear, anxiety etc. I learnt to talk to people when my heart is heavy. I learnt not to bottle up emotions and feelings. I learnt that self care is PRIORITY.

7. Everyone we meet is fighting a battle. I learnt not to be judgemental. Behind people's smiles most times lies pain and aches.

8. Fear can kill, if you allow it.

9. 2020 taught me that there is more ''stupidity than hydrogen in the universe and it has a longer shelf life" Pray tell, why would anyone drink bleach, bath with salt etc.

10. Financial health is very key. The money you save today will definitely save you tomorrow.

11. 2020 taught me how to actually watch movies and enjoy them. Crazy stuff.

12. 2020, the year I took the most selfies . Because there is absolutely nothing that trumps creating memories.

I will write again. Hopefully, soon.

Love and a string of tiny lights.
