To All The Ones We Loved and Lost

I woke up today feeling blue. The fact that being an''adult'' and acting like one and  all the bad news around the world may or may not have contributed to the feeling.

I just felt like laying in bed for longer...just tired of everything really. So before my thoughts began to wander, I usually say my prayer before getting off the bed but today I wanted to just lie down and wallow in self pity.

Did that for a bit and then I thought to myself, would it make any difference if you were dead. Maybe you wouldn't have to bother about anything again really... The speed with which I got up alarmed my body. I don't want to die, God did not send me to this world to just work and not enjoy life . I said my prayers, dressed up and left the house to go on a sanity drive (this is what I choose to call it).

Then my thoughts wandered to how life happens and we lose people. Lost to sickness, old age, blood type, ethnicity, foolishness, greed etc...then i started to laugh.

I remembered my maternal grand-mom sent for me when she had a mild stroke. I was in the university then, my dad just came on a Friday and took me home. Met my gran with partial stroke, ran to her and broke down. She didn't live for too long after, but I was happy I saw her last moments.

Then I thought of my brother, whom we all loved fiercely but we lost to sickle cell disease. Many years since he has been gone but the memories are still very clear and dear.

Were you almost going to marry someone only for your parents to vehemently refuse because you do not practise same religion?

Were you almost going to marry someone but then one of you is a Christian and the other a Muslim so folks said NO?

Have you lost a relationship or marriage because your greedy self won't stop being foolish and philandering?

Have you lost someone you loved dearly to a terminal sickness? The pain of watching their lives ebb away is heartbreaking.

Have you lost a relationship simply because your blood types are not compatible? This one here, like they say...it can pain.

Have you lost your relationship to your friend? ( i mean, this happens all the time)

Have you lost a relationship because your partner moved abroad for masters,and all the promises of 

wait for me turned to wait for ever?

Have you lost a pregnancy pre- term or even at birth? May God comfort you and yours.

Did you invest your money in MMM and lost it all?

See, someone introduced that level marketing to me in 2006. I invested 150GBP (Great Britain Pounds) shingbai I did not get back. So when people come to me with investment plans i just smile  inside and keep it moving.

That 150 pounds o ja mi lara je till date.(Heart breaking)

Gains, losses are all part of life. Feeling so pumped and feeling so low are equally part of life. We can choose how we react or respond to the seasons.

In memory of all the losses, and the people we have lost to Covid-19 all over the world....
