The One About Hemorrhoids

Let me start by saying something important: nobody warns you about adulthood properly. It Started Innocently. Everything was normal. I woke up, drank my tea, minded my business like a responsible citizen. Around midday, I felt pressed and off to the loo I went to do a number two. Five minutes after, my life changed. Chaos. The Moment of Realization Let me tell you something: when hemorrhoids arrive, they do not knock politely . They enter like an uninvited relative during Christmas. Suddenly sitting down is no longer an activity. It becomes a negotiation with destiny . I sat down. My body said: “Excuse me, who authorized this?” I stood up. My body said: “Where do you think you're going? ” At that point I realized this pain is not joking with me. The Walk of Suffering Let me talk about walking. Normally, walking is simple. Left leg and right leg abi? But when hemorrhoids flare up, you start walking like someone that is transporting fragile eggs between your bu...

2020: The One We Did Not See Coming.

Hey lovelies,  Long time no post! I have not forgotten about this blog but LIFE keeps happening!!  I know it is just 24th of November and the year is not near ending but then 2020 can be described as the year that decided to turn on it's own. 2020, the year people with discerning spirit learnt a thing or two. I just want to share with you a few lessons I learnt along the way: 1. Everything in life happens for a reason. Life is a lesson , we learn everyday and we keep learning. Amazing how when some things falls into place in our lives and then we think back at when the process started. The time you met someone who randomly mentioned your name in a room full of opportunities, many years later. That meeting was not a chance meeting...it was the beginning of a process.  2. Know your place in people's lives and act accordingly. Humans beings are very complex.  I am up for loving people deeply and all of that but don't get so sucked in that you are unable to read in betwe...

NIGERIA KILLS YOU IN DOSES...END SARS!!!

So today, Nigerian youths are out on the streets protesting the menace called SARS.  SARS(Special Anti Robbery Squad) who never actually chase after robbers but innocent citizens.  The young man who chose to dye his hair red, the one who was unfortunate enough to have a tattoo, the one who didn't think carrying his hair in dreadlocks will be the end of him.  Or the young man who was walking home with his laptop strapped to his back and was labelled a ''yahoo yahoo'' or an internet fraudster. Or the young man who worked hard and was able to buy a 2006 Mercedes in 2020 and still get gunned down by SARS because how on earth is a young adult able to afford that ''luxury''. Nigeria kills you in doses, from the empty buildings we know as hospitals to the roads that are practically non existent to the universities that are always closed because lecturers are on  strike to ask for a better wage. It is not a crime to wear your hair in dreads. It is not a cri...

EVERYTHING GOOD WILL COME

It is a new month and people are sending the happy new month and all the motivational stuff all over the place as usual. I get the frenzy that comes with  anything new, we all get stirred up gingered to do things. And then the days roll by and we back into that what will be will be mood. You may have been asking God for some pleasant surprise since January, but I want to tell you that everything good will come. You may have been waiting on that new job, everything good will come . You may be looking up to God for a break through on matters you can't even discuss with other people, everything good will come. You may be waiting for that approval and it is looking bleak....everything good will come. You may be waiting for that proposal to click, everything good will come. For whatever it is, have faith. Keep your head up. Speak it into the universe, shout it out loud when you can. EVERYTHING GOOD WILL COME. With Love As Always.

RANDOM MUSINGS

Hello people!! I know I have been missing in action and that is because I have been busy. Work, more hectic than normal because some people clearly do not like peace and they try to foster that on the rest of us.  So, I am usually knackered every evening and no time to write. Sigh.  I just decided to put together some of my random thoughts:  1. The people who send emails asking ''hope this meets you well'' what if I am tired and weak, no your email may not have met me well: keep it moving please 😑  2. Making sure  your sacrifices are valued: you know when you give up something of value for the sake of other people. Be it family or friends, most times we expect gratitude. But think about it, how many times have we been told ''but I didn't ask you to''. When the people you are giving up stuff for, do not know what you have given up they can't appreciate it. 3. Learning to accept: you know how things don't always work out as planned...and the...

Four Eyed Gang!!

A few months ago, reading became kind of strenuous. The head ache accompanying staring at the computer all day was becoming unbearable. Decided to go for an eye examination because I know I have a 20/20 vision , the only things I find difficult are the tiny prints. One hour after, madam you have presbyopia. Then he explained how the lens in our eyes becomes weaker with age and then difficulty to see/read follows. Then, I remember when I was like 8 or 9 years and I badly wanted to wear glasses because it seems it was only for cool kids. I went to a primary school that had a lot of "cool kids" and I think when I was in primary 5 (not sure now) at the beginning of a new session half of the kids came back with glasses. Growing up, I was that child that was quiet and shy. Who wanted to be accepted by all, so I thought wearing glasses would mean joining the cool kids club.  Then the mission to convince my dad started. This is one man who is not the easiest to convince about anythi...

Fantastic Four.

On this day, exactly 4 years ago I welcomed my 2nd son. I remember I was not due to start my maternity leave but my body was tired. My boss, God bless him insisted that I should proceed on leave with immediate effect. That fateful morning, I just had very spicy noodles and I was still on the same spot when I felt a sharp pain in my back. Considering this second pregnancy was associated with back aches from day one, i didn't think it was something serious.  Then it started feeling like there was a royal rumble going on in my stomach, my mum said oh maybe you put in too much spice in the noodles and went back to her room. I got up to start packing hospital bag because I am such a last minute human being. I am sure there are women who pack hospital bags from the day they find out they are expecting a baby. Anyways, was packing and singing and hoping the pain/discomfort will go away because baby is not due for another two weeks. For every item I picked to put in the bag, there was a sh...

SCALES LIE, A LOT.

So, I started exercising intentionally in the last few weeks, because I woke up one day and I could not move my body. Why do I feel so heavy? I could not even climb stairs without panting heavily.  I decided to take a stroll to the neighbourhood pharmacy and get my multivitamins. I still can't figure out why I decided to check my weight. Mistake: because that scale LIED. How is someone with my size and height  78.5kg.  I don't like how my body is at the moment. Slightly bulging tummy (that is if you consider a typical 4 months pregnancy bulge as slight).  Moving on....people will tell you that you should LOVE your body, but I have news IT IS NOT THAT EASY. I just want to have a picture perfect body. I want to be able to wear dresses and crop tops. I want to be able to fit into my size 12 skinny jeans and skirts. I miss tucking shirts into pants and skirts.  I don't want to be turning my face and looking for my perfect angle because my cheeks are puffy. I ju...
