There Is More To Life Than Living In Bondage....

People fall in love everyday. Some times we get it right and some times we get it wrong. There is no telling which side of the divide you will fall into. Because human beings will be human and things can happen. Everyone has an opinion on marriage. But unfortunately there is no marriage manual anywhere. I have always believed in luck, hard work and of course prayers as a basis of any stable relationship. Most people actually date and get married to people who had their heads screwed on but few years down the line, life happens. People change. Scripts flips and everything goes south. Every relationship is unique, which is why I don't judge my relationship or compare my relationship with friends/family. I have seen people take ''shit'' from their partners and guess what, they don't even see what i think is  shit as shit. Wiun! There is this case of a marriage, both were madly in love. Good jobs, hefty salaries so finances was never a problem. Husband h...

Catch Your Sub And Do The Right Thing

It is 10.40pm Nigerian time: have you had your bath today? Or because you did not go anywhere, no need? Raise those arms of yours, hair abi...you have not been shaving because you have not been going out right? Are you planning on contributing the hair  to paint brush manufacturers? Get a razor, cutlass, shaving stick or whatever will work for the bush and clear it off. The hair "down there" shave it too. Your bedsheets!! This is the third week right? Now you know why you are breaking out... No need to talk too much on this one. Your towels, same one for 2 weeks...no need bathing really cos you just rub the germs back on your body. Your feet...when you rub them on your sheets how do you feel? Like they can actually tear your bed sheet? See, get a bucket or a bowl in the morning. Boil some water, add apple cider vinegar and any essential oil.  Soak your feet for at least 45 minutes, get a pumice and scrape that thing on your heels off. Those black boxers....do Not w...

What If You Wake Up To Know They Are Not Yours.....

So, we woke up today the trending video of the guy who found out his dad isn't his dad after 36 years.  T he perception that paternity fraud is high in Nigeria is not unfounded. Reports have been making the rounds that Nigeria has the 2nd highest rate of paternity fraud in the world after Jamaica. Many men have been unknowingly raising children that are not theirs and to curb the trend, there have been calls for introduction of mandatory DNA testing at birth. See, paternity fraud is not new. I am going to be talking based on my point of view as Nigerian. Growing up, I was told of stories of men who knew they could not father children due to sexual dysfunction from birth. These men are now "packaged' by their family to an unsuspecting lady via arranged marriage. Both parents may be in the know or just the parents of the man. Along the line, girl finds out and she is cajoled and persuaded to go and try outside so she can save her marriage and  save face. I have also h...

To All The Ones We Loved and Lost

I woke up today feeling blue. The fact that being an''adult'' and acting like one and  all the bad news around the world may or may not have contributed to the feeling. I just felt like laying in bed for longer...just tired of everything really. So before my thoughts began to wander, I usually say my prayer before getting off the bed but today I wanted to just lie down and wallow in self pity. Did that for a bit and then I thought to myself, would it make any difference if you were dead. Maybe you wouldn't have to bother about anything again really... The speed with which I got up alarmed my body. I don't want to die, God did not send me to this world to just work and not enjoy life . I said my prayers, dressed up and left the house to go on a sanity drive (this is what I choose to call it). Then my thoughts wandered to how life happens and we lose people. Lost to sickness, old age, blood type, ethnicity, foolishness, greed etc...then i started to la...

AN OPEN LETTER TO FELLOW DOVES

Image
We all know the drill, wash your hands and sanitize as often as possible. Be careful of doorknobs, surface areas etc: As the lock down gets lifted from Monday the 4 th of May, let’s expect the numbers to skyrocket. There is no need to be afraid, some people may say.  After all, fear has never solved any problem. Look at everyone as asymptomatic and watch out for yourself. You can only vouch for what YOU have touched and how hygienic you have been, same cannot be said of your colleagues or the guy you are sharing Keke Marwa with. You need to really watch out for yourself. Need I remind you that when push comes to shove in Nigeria, you are basically on your own. 1. The government cannot manage a full brown country wide crisis. 2. Ask yourself, can I afford the treatment if there are no spaces in the isolation wards. 3. Now, finally ask will any hospital take me? As soon as you get back in to your homes, do not touch anything or anyone till...
